I began my apartment hunt in Albany by browsing Craigslist. After seeing a number of places that were small, dark, or flat out not the apartment advertised online, I came across Hamel Real Estate’s website. "I was referred to Bill Hamel by my tax professional in the Spring of 2015.  I was looking for a property management service to help manage my two family apartment in Albany, NY. Shortly after I made contact with Bill, he responded and offered to meet me at the apartment to do a walk through and to  help rent one of the apartments.  Bill was honest and straightforward in his assessment the apartment, explained to me how his service works, and how he screens tenants.  After our meeting, Bill followed through by renting the apartment to well qualified set of applicants.  Bill showed the apartment multiple times and was through and fair in his checks of the applicants. 

Following my initial contact with Bill, I moved out of state and had Bill manage the apartment while I have been living across the country.  Bill and his team, provided me with peace of mind and an assurance that my investment would be taken care of, should something arise that needed attention. He was prompt in his payment of rents and troubleshooting any issue that came up along the way. I never had to worry about my communication with Bill as he always responded to me promptly.

In the Winter of 2018, I decided to sell my property and hired Bill to be my agent. Again Bill was honest and direct regarding the property. He did walk through of both apartments and provided a list of items that needed to be fixed before the property went on the market. Bill then coordinated with the renters to find times to fix these items. Bill expertly priced the property, marketed, and showed the property all the while keeping me informed of the progress. Bill followed through the process by helping to coordinate the information required to sell the property. I'm happy to say we closed on the property last week! 

Without Bill's steward of my property, I would have had many more headaches and sleepless nights. I highly would recommend Bill to other property owners, as he as decades of experience, and has been honest throughout my dealings with him. Owning investment property can be a risky venture, but with Bill there to help I was able to focus my life on other issues, knowing if something came up, he would be there to take care of it.
