HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING IN REAL ESTATE

Based on statistics by the Greater Capital Association of Realtors, closed single family sales were up significantly over May 2009. Unfortunately, contracts of sale for May were down due to the ending of the tax credit on April 30. We will see fewer closings through the summer than we have had in the first half of 2010. June closings will be strong as home buyers pushed to close by the June 30 date for the tax benefit. The market will remain soft and interest rates are less than five percent. It will be a buyer’s market for the rest of 2010.

Bill and Mike Hamel are co-owners/brokers of Hamel Real Estate.

Hamel Real Estate has been actively doing business in the Capital Region for more than 15 years. We have extensive knowledge and experience in buyer and seller representation as well as property management and home improvement.

We focus our management efforts in the Center Square and North Allen Street areas of Albany.
